Beginning as a humble home-run Montessori practice over fifteen years ago, Montessori of Greenwich Bay has grown into an accredited Early Childhood Institution, with an American Montessori Society (AMS) certified team of dedicated teachers. Owner and Head of School Lynne Way, M. Ed., fell in love with the method over 20 years ago when looking for a program for her first child. It has since become her life passion. She has over 25 years of early childhood experience, (17 years Montessori) and holds a Masters, Montessori Education and both Toddler and Primary Montessori certifications accredited by the American Montessori Society. With three beautiful classrooms designed for students ages 18 months to five years, our holistic approach to education offers a comprehensive child-centered curriculum in Language, Mathematics, Science, Yoga, Geography, Music, Art, and much more.
We welcome you and your family to our Montessori community with open arms and open hearts.
We aim to inspire children to learn joyfully, building strong, one-on-one relationships to stimulate interest and discovery in learning.
We are committed to a sense of community, working together to create a kinder, gentler world by the hands of each child.
We ensure that engaging, appropriate learning materials are available to challenge your child to prepare them for academic success.
At Montessori of Greenwich Bay, we believe that every moment in the classroom presents a new opportunity to learn. Every element of our institution, from the thoughtfully arranged classroom organization to the authentic Montessori materials that rotate our shelves, underlie Maria Montessori’s unique and revolutionary educational approach.
Everything your child experiences from the moment they arrive, to the moment they leave, has significant purpose. We believe in the importance of empowering your child to direct their own activity as much as possible. Our teachers are nurturing guides who use powerful, research-driven methods to bring out your child’s innate potential, which creates an educational experience that’s vastly different from typical play-schools developed around adult-directed activity.
Montessori of Greenwich Bay's Toddler House is now open on Post Road in East Greenwich.
